30th July 2017 – Andrew A.

July 27, 2017: As a bronze sponsor, AltumView attended the prestigious CVPR 2017 (International Conference on Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition, http://cvpr2017.thecvf.com/) conference in Hawaii from July 21 to July 26. CVPR is the number one venue in Computer Vision, ranked by Google Scholar’s h-index metric. As deep learning has moved from an academic breakthrough to the most powerful and disrupting technology driving force of our era, this year’s CVPR draws 5000 attendees from academia, industry, and the government, nearly double the number just three years ago. The 130 industrial sponsors also set a new record for the conference.

At CVPR, AltumView showcased its latest products, including the NVIDIA TX2-based high-end face recognition camera and HiSilicon Hi3519-based low-cost face detection camera, both run deep learning algorithms developed by the company. These cameras successfully detected, recognized, and impressed many academic and industrial celebrities in the crowd, including NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang, Horizon Robotics CEO Kai Yu, Professor Ying Wu of Northwestern University (CVPR Program Chair), Dr. Le Lu of NIH (CVPR Demos Chair and Area Chair), Professor Jiebo Luo of Rochester University (CVPR Area Chair), Dr. S. Kevin Zhou of Siemens Corporate Research (CVPR Area Chair), Dr. Zicheng Liu (CVPR Area Chair) and Dr. Tao Mei of Microsoft Research.
